How long do I have to wait until I can kiss my boyfriend?

I was diagnosed with mono this morning... I've had symptoms for almost a month now. The first doctor I went to said that it was bad tonsillitis, but after being prescribed penicillin, and taking that for about 5 days with my symptoms not any better (in fact they got worse)... I decided to go to another doctor. She ordered blood tests and they came back positive for mono. How long do I have to wait before I can kiss my boyfriend? Some people say 2-4 weeks, and others say it can be up to 6 months AFTER symptoms go away. I don't want to infect him but it will be hard for the two of us not to spend time together, especially because we're usually so intimate.
