If my husband sucks on my nipples too much, can it cause any major damage?

We were getting a bit intimate today, and I'd never experienced anything oral on my breasts. He was sucking rather hard, till they were almost numb. We stopped and a couple hours later, he tried again and it BURNED. I just put cold paper towels on my bra and it helped. But could any major damage be done?
