What type of bird is this?

i'm not really sure sorry. Your discription is preaty detalied i'm sure a bird person could give you a preaty good idea. But in the mean time and sence it's very difficult to id a bird without looking at it may I sudjest a bird field guid for your area? We bought one for my 9 year old and for weeks she had fun hauling it around with a pair of bionoculars trying to id different birds. It can be a lot of fun expecialy if you have kids or somone to do it with.
